We discuss your loved one’s interests, routines and preferred kind of company, along with the daily tasks where help would be useful.
Conversation, shared activities and social engagement
Meal preparation and everyday household support
Light housekeeping and errands as agreed
Non-clinical reminders within the care plan
02
Room for family caregivers to recharge
Companion visits can be part of a plan that gives family members time to work, attend appointments or take a break. Discuss the hours and support you need before deciding on a schedule.
03
Know what is included
Companionship does not automatically include hands-on personal care, transport arrangements or clinical medication services. Tell us what is needed so the appropriate scope can be discussed.
Questions, answered
A clearer way forward.
Is companion care only for someone living alone?
No. A spouse or family member may also welcome another person’s companionship and practical support.
Can we use LTC insurance for companionship?
Ask the carrier whether the proposed services and provider meet your policy’s requirements. A policy does not automatically cover every companion-care arrangement.
Let’s talk about what would help.
Care needs, staffing, timing and costs are discussed before services begin.
